Today Pizza Hut surprised local Mullica Hill, NJ middle schoolers with a Bacon Mac n’ Cheese Pretzel Stuffed Crust Pizza they dreamed up as a month-long statistics project. As part of the exercise, a group of students wrote Pizza Hut about their idea, and asked the company to give it a try. Little did they know, back in Plano, TX, not only would Pizza Hut read the letter, but that their team of chefs would begin working up a recipe for their idea.
During the surprise today, students were awe struck as Pizza Hut Chef Barbie King and executives presented them with the real life version of their creation as a reward for all of their hard work and interest in Pizza Hut and the company’s innovation process. Students sampled the pizza and participated in a Q&A session with the Pizza Hut chef, where they talked about lessons learned from their project experience.
